To be eligible, applicants must work in the built environment sector, be under the age of 31 years as of March 31, 2025, and have not attended MIPIM in the last 3 years. Essay answers must be in English.
Furthermore, entrants must secure permission from their employer to attend MIPIM in 2024. It is essential to note that all events during the program will be conducted in English.

The jury will look for essays that exhibit:

  • clear understanding of the urbanisation problem
  • originality
  • global perspective
  • critical thinking
  • references supporting the argument (e.g. quotes from open sources or industry experts)
  • Applications are now open and will close on October 25, 2024 (midnight CET)
  • The 16 challengers will be announced by December 19, 2024
  • Participants are required to attend 3 informative webinars scheduled between January and March 2025
  • Participants will attend MIPIM, in Cannes (France), from March 11 to March 14, 2025

Every MIPIM Challenger will receive a complimentary MIPIM pass, granting access to all the events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. We will also provide accommodation near Cannes from Tuesday to Friday, along with a convenient shuttle service to the Palais des Festivals.

Participants are required to attend 3 informative webinars scheduled between January and March. Each webinar, lasting between 30 to 45 minutes, will provide crucial insights, key information, and relevant content to empower and prepare our Challengers for their impactful journey at MIPIM.

Participants are also required to attend dedicated sessions at MIPIM, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
